Title: Environmental Entrepreneur

Association, Company, Affiliations: Quintessence Marine / Salatino Seafood

Your favorite quote: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

Your message or mission statement: While others turn a blind eye to a very real problem, I have dedicated my life to eradicating a plague that destroys our reef systems. Our company, Quintessence Marine, is a representation of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. No location is too remote, no depth too great. Our unique methods have created jobs, equipped hunters in remote locations with some of the best gear, provided guidance and mentorship and helped create a commercial demand for this invasive species.

Your latest endeavors and where they take place: San Andres, Colombia. Educating population on processing and consumption of lionfish. Equipping hunters with better gear to make their hunts more efficient. Creating programs that will get greater numbers of people hunting lionfish.

What efforts are you most proud of? Working with other countries in establishing extermination programs to manage their local reef systems. Providing equipment and education to less fortunate hunters in remote locations.

Anything else you’d like us to know? We are willing and able to work with anyone who is serious about preserving their beloved ecosystem for future generations. I personally have found my peace and direction in life, in a world that continues to struggle with balance and would love nothing more than to share that passion with all that will listen. If you are as passionate as we are at Quintessence Marine and our lionfish brand, Salatino Seafood, please contact us and join a movement like no other. I can be contacted through email jamesalicea2@gmail.com.
