Mission Statement on lionfish

The lionfish is bad for the environment. That’s why we hunt them – they are very invasive and they don’t belong here.

Latest Lionfish Endeavors

His latest culling efforts have taken him throughout the Antilles, where he continues to hunt lionfish and help protect reef ecosystems across the region.

A Record Day on the Water

This past February, Izhar captained the boat for a hunt that produced an astonishing 53 lionfish in a single day – one of the most productive culls of the season and a real testament to his skill, preparation, and knowledge of Aruba’s reefs.

What He’s Most Proud Of

Firstly, I’m proud to be a Christian. Secondly, to be a PAD! dive instructor. Thirdly, I’m proud to take part alongside Roger J. Muller, Jr. in helping reduce the lionfish population in the waters of Aruba.

Partnership with an International Lionfish hunter

lzhar was proud to work alongside international lionfish hunter Roger J. Muller, Jr., who has spent the past 13 years teaching and leading lionfish culling efforts throughout Aruba. Their partnership was also featured in a lionfish documentary filmed by JV Hart, capturing their shared commitment to protecting the island’s reefs from this invasive species.
